2017 Divisions

T-Ball is an instructional program for girls and boys 4 to 5 years old that is organized to introduce children to the basics of baseball/softball in a fun environment. Registered players will receive a team T-shirt and baseball cap. Registered families will hear from their coach once registration closes and teams are formed (generally by early April). There will be separate Rhinebeck and Red Hook T-Ball Programs in 2017.

   Rhinebeck T-Ball

  • T-Ball is held on Saturday mornings for 1.5 hours, typically starting at 10:30 am
  • The T-Ball program starts in late April
  • The T-Ball schedule is 8-weeks long. Rainouts are typically not rescheduled.
  • T-Ball will likely be played at the Stone Church ball field in 2017
  • Players bring a baseball glove and water

   Red Hook T-Ball

  • Designed to provide a foundation and introduction to baseball for players ages 4 & 5.
  • T-Ball season starts in late April/early May and ends late June.
  • Two games/week for about 1 hour, Mondays & Fridays at 6:00 pm.
  • 12 to 14 games played each season (weather dependent)
  • T-Ball is played at the Red Hook Rec Park
  • Players need to bring a glove and water; all other equipment is provided by the league.

Coach Pitch Minor League Baseball is a developmental program for 6 and 7 year old boys and girls that is organized to help players learn the basics and fundamentals of baseball – skills, rules, and strategy – in a positive environment. This program is a transitional program for those players who will benefit from the structure and pace of a coach pitch environment, with ample opportunities to bat and play the field. All registered players will receive a team jersey and baseball cap. Registered families will hear from their coach once registration closes and teams are formed (generally in late March). Coach Pitch Minor League Baseball is  a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program.

  • Practices will begin in early April (weather and field conditions permitting)
  • Games will begin in late April and run through mid-June
  • Players can expect to practice/play 2-3 times each week – weekday late afternoons/evenings and Saturday daytime.
  • Coach Pitch Minor League baseball practices and games may take place at any of the following fields: Red Hook Rec Park, Stone Church field, Wager 
Field at the Rhinebeck Rec Park, and Father Carroll field.
  • Players supply a baseball glove,  baseball pants, and water.

Player Pitch Minor League Baseball is a developmental program for 8 to 10 year old boys and girls that is organized to help players learn the basics and fundamentals of baseball – skills, rules, and strategy – in a positive environment. This program is for those players who are prepared to hit, field, and pitch in a structured game environment. All registered players will receive a team jersey and baseball cap. Registered families will hear from their coach once registration closes and teams are formed (generally in late March). Player Pitch Minor League Baseball is a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program.

  • Practices will begin in early April (weather and field conditions permitting)
  • Games will begin in late April and run through mid-June
  • Players can expect to practice/play 2-3 times each week – weekday late afternoons/evenings and Saturday daytime.
  • Player Pitch Minor League baseball practices and games may take place at any of the following fields: Red Hook Rec Park, Stone Church field, Wager 
Field at the Rhinebeck Rec Park, and Father Carroll field.
  • Players supply a baseball glove, baseball pants, and water

Major League Baseball is a team-oriented program for 10 to 12 year old boys and girls experienced in baseball or softball that is organized to give players the opportunity to further develop baseball skills in a positive and competitive environment. Games are played according to Little League International rules, including: lineups, substitutions, pitch counts, and base stealing. Umpires from the Hudson Valley Umpire Association will  officiate games this season. All registered players will receive a team jersey and baseball cap. Registered families will hear from their coach once registration closes and teams are formed (generally in late March). Major League Baseball is a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program.

  • Practices begin in early April (weather and field conditions permitting)
  • Games will begin in late April and run through mid-June
  • Players can expect to practice/play 3-4 times each week – weekday late
afternoons/evenings and Saturday daytime
  • The primary fields for the Major League program are Dave Wager Field at the Rhinebeck Rec Park and Father Carroll Field. Some practices or games may be at Stone Church Field, Rhinebeck High School Softball Field, or the Red Hook Rec Park.
  • Players supply a baseball glove, baseball pants, and water
  • Major league players will form the pool of eligible players from which Red Hook/Rhinebeck Little League's District Tournament Team (“All Stars”) will be selected to participate in the late June/July district tournament. Additional fees for players participating in the summer District Tournament will cover team uniforms and umpire costs.

Junior League Baseball is for boys and girls 13 and 14 years old. Junior League baseball plays on a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. The season will start in late April and run through mid-June. Most Junior League games will be scheduled for weekends, although there will be some weekday games during the season. Junior League is a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program.

Senior League Baseball is for boys and girls 15 and 16 years old. Senior League baseball plays on a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. The season will start in late April and run through mid-June. Most Senior League games will be scheduled for weekends, although there will be some weekday games during the season. Senior League is a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program.

Softball Divisions

Girls Minor League Softball - Ages 8 to 10
A softball player’s 2017 league age is their age as of December 31, 2016. This is a player pitch division. Girls in this division play on a 60 ft diamond with a pitching distance of 35 ft. Players need a glove and sneakers or cleats. Minor League softball is a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program. Home games will be played at the Red Hook Town Rec Park.

Girls Major League Softball - Ages 11 and 12
A softball player’s 2017 league age is their age as of December 31, 2015. Girls in this division play on a 60 ft. diamond with a pitching distance of 40 ft. Players need a glove and cleats; all other equipment will be provided by the league. Major League softball is a combined Red Hook-Rhinebeck program. Home games will be played at the Red Hook Town Rec Park.
