Update for April 25

To our Little League Families and Players;

Little League Baseball and Softball activities remain suspended until May 15.  A few notes on recent developments.

  • The US Eastern Region of Little League International recently convened and are encouraging leagues to not cancel the season at this point.
  • In preparation, our league has obtained enough baseball and softball equipment to open the season quickly.
  • We have drawn up plans to have a 12-game spring season assuming a May 15 start date.
  • Plans to clean up fields and perform all necessary repairs are in place.
  • Discussion of additional options such as offering an enriched program in the summer or fall are underway.
  • Keeping true to our promise as outlined in the refund policy as updated for the 2020 spring season, we remain cautious with spending.  The league is in a financial posture to execute refunds in the event of a cancellation of the spring season.

We are in times without precedent.  There are many questions without answers at this point.  How will all of this impact the district tournament?  In the event of tournament season cancellations, will there be temporary changes to accommodate the loss of a tournament season for players aging out of little league?  We purposely are not speculating on what will unfold, and ask for your continued patience for these types of questions.

Finally, if you have paid a registration fee for the spring and are experiencing financial hardship, please contact Jeff Cassens (rhinebeckll.treasurer@gmail.com) or Jim Mulvey (jmulvey43@gmail.com) to confidentially request a refund.

We hope this finds our players and their families healthy.  Stay ready, Stay well.  We miss seeing you at the field!
